Quattro Snags Big Silver!!!

Was out to one of my local parks yesterday. Land was donated in 1930, park was designed with a grand opening in 1935. Newspaper articles from the 1940's claim "people flooded to the park in the thousands". This definately sparked an intrest. Right before dark I found a spot that hadn't been hit before and pulled these four. Next day went there and dug a 1926 S merc in XF+ condition I'll have to post a picture of it on here. Didn't expect it to be worth much, but was shocked to see what the Red Book had to say about it.

Very nice find..I also have a Quattro, which i recently sent back to factory to have checked....Guess you will be heading back to the park soon!!

Getting ready to begin a search in an old amusement park.. This ought to be a great source for coins as the park closed in the early 50's after a run of 30 years or so.

Found an old map showing the booths, ride entrances, roller coaster run, etc. Might keep me busy all summer...

Hi everyone, first time poster....I have the Quattro and use it mainly on the beach with a lot of black sand. I must admit, this machine does wonders in any condition, black sand, wet sand, dry sand, surf. I currently am hunting in all-metal, on a part of the beach that is not used, so there's not much trash. I am impressed with the Quattro's depth. Seems this beach was used way back in the early 1900s and with erosion, I'm finding coins in the mid 1800s...Shielded nickels, seated liberty dimes, 3 cent pieces and of course IH's, but oddly enough, nothing in the early 1900s...Could be when the beach was reclaimed (who knows when), they dredged a sunken ship's cargo of old coins. What I'm trying to say is that I'm happy with my Quattro...

What coil are you Quattro users using? I have the stock 10.5 but hope to get the smaller 8x6....

I have the 10 X 12 EXcelerator coil, and absolutely love it. It seems to go a couple inches deeper then the stock 10.5, and the pinpointing is great. I also use the 8" DD which does pretty good in trashy areas.
