quattro loosing threshold

I notice my quattro looses threshold an goes dead silent and does not detect a coin when i air test .To get threshold back again i have to lift it up to waist height an slowly bring it back down to ground ,this happens when on demolition site spasmodically . I do not think it is the nulling of trash as the threshold should return when in clear ground again ??? Cheers Craig

Craig when this happens are you running any discrimination?

No i am not, i have it all in factory pre-set in coin/ jewellry mode,thanks Craig.

Hello Craig, You are using discrimination if you are using modes other than All Metal. My guess would be that there is a large mass of metal in the ground or even above ground near where your detector has been nulling that is in the rejected band of -10 to -1 of the Coin/Jewelery mode.
