Quarters/Dimes/Nickels/Very Old Suspender Buckle/Engraved Silver Spoon end

Well-known member
Finds are from a few hot weather weekend hunts with "Silver King" and a quick trip to a 1880s township hall.
Notice the scratch I put in the SLQ on the shield. I was happy to get it so it didn't bother me too much. Ground was a little hard is my excuse

Coin Finds
Quarters are 1918d, 1942, 1956 (Canadian - 80% silver)
Dimes are 1911,1937,1942,1943,1960 (Canadian)
Nickels are 1900,Dateless,1928,1945 (war nickel (read 12-14)).
Indian Penny is 1907.
Wheat Pennies are back to 1913.

Other Finds
The swan design suspender buckle was found at the old town hall and has a lot of age.
Take it or leave it ; but It is the same design is referenced on a website that mentions it being found at a civil war camp. Pre-1900 for sure.
The engraved spoon read like a coin and looks to be silver.
The merchant token was a 9 inch signal that read just like a deep silver dime. It is an unlisted token from a small town so it has very good value.
The large iron item must be part of an old fence. The target had good depth and was found close to a few wheat pennies.
Other items are a small Phoenix button, a kid's spinning ring, "President" suspender buckle, a W BB ANN CASE luggage? tag and the round "Made In US Of America" Item

Coils used were the Stock Coil, NEL Thunder, NEL Tornado. Finds were made with each coil.
Finds were made at city parks, old schools and an old hall.

Dave...don't even know what to say anymore buddy....congrats on the great hunts and success
but i am growing really jealous and disappointed as i see what can be had
i am searching old sites that surely should have these types of items in them...
and i primarily get silver from the 40s and 50s....and coins in the top 6 inches
i cannot get my SENS to allow me over say 16 or 17 to see down into those deeper layers
all it does is null out....even in AUTO+3
getting very aggravated; it is consistent like that all over a 5-6 state area in which i hunt
i cannot get the threshold to stay on with SENS above say 16/17
all i see is people hunting on these videos at 27-28-29
that must be the area you can achieve in your soils to routinely get these great items
it must be such a pleasure to dig these things....like i said....very jealous
sorry for the sour grapes but i am growing increasingly disenchanted with the absolute lack of depth i am getting
gun to your head....TORNADO or THUNDER for coinshooting Dave??
i am going to get one of them in a last ditch effort to grab another inch or so of depth
i simply must get some of these awesome things you find....i KNOW they are there
sorry for the rant ; your hauls have set me off!! lol

Thanks SS,
You cant go wrong with either of the NEL coils. I use the Thunder over the Tornado when the site is little junkier.
This weekend we were working an old school site where there was a lot of iron and the big coils were nulling out and masking some targets so we had to switch to
the stock coil and pulled some more coins. I believe I was getting 17-19 SENS at that site.
I have detected as far south as Missouri in past years so I have ran into a lot of different soil types.

Congrats on yet another great token and a great SLQ. That is a beautiful suspender buckle as well and I have only seen one other of those found before. Awesome finds as usual FPD!.

Another great hunt F.P.D!

Keep em coming.

I'm sorry to see the scratch on the SLQ but your not the only one to do that. I can give you a list of key date and semi key date coins that I have scratched,

Congrat's on the very nice finds.

Thanks Mark! would be nice to get down your way one of these weekends on a quest for a large cent. I suppose it is hot and dry there too.
