Quality of the CTX audio

I've only seen some videos but the sounds stood out quite quickly to me as being a bit smoother and less warbly. Any of you who have great ears and used an E-Trac and Explorer have anything to add here? I have heard the Explorer had better audio than the E-Trac and then heard a person (here?) mention the CTX was better than the Explorer, so that caught my attention.

Thanks,
Albert

ps - T minus 10 days or so till I have a CTX :)

I actually like the sound of the Etrac better. Maybe its just something once you get used to everything else sound funny.....;o)

The audio on the CTX is a bit more "digital" compared to the Etrac. I think it is harder to differentiate coins as well as large trash with the CTX. I sure do miss the sweet silver tone from the Etrac. The CTX locks on better at depth than the Etrac. It also thunks like the Etrac on deep targets...but most items under 7" give a pretty consistent tone. I think the CTX is much better on nickels than the Etrac at depth. I did an air test comparing the tones of the Etrac and CTX and there is definitely a larger variatibility with the Etrac. I think others have noticed the same. HH

I so far feel the sound is cleaner and more repeatable thean th SE. I think this will be a personal pref mostly. I do agree the silver tone even on an Se was nicer then the highest on CTX. It does hit nickels with ease over my SE and the TID and sound to me is cleaner on nickels over pull tabs if you listen to the slight changes.
