Quality beach/surf VLF machine??

Hi All,

I am searching for a beach/surf/freshwater machine - preferably not PI.
I was keen on the BH ID, but Ive read some posts where users refer to a number of problems on the BH, which are disturbing me.
these are :
low sensitivity
poorly made battery lid - bad waterproofing
weak battery compartment clips
poor manual
headphone lead too short

any BH ID users have any comment?
The excalibur is out of my price bracket, and possibly too heavy out of the water as I want to use the machine on the beach too.
Any other VLF beach/surf machines any good out there?
