I have two Explorer XS purchased in April and September of this year. The older one says "V1.10.5 22.Dec.99" at power up and the newer 1.10.5A 20.Sept.0" I Wanted to know if there are any performance or functionality differences. Also the older one has a white tinted lcd display while the newer one has a green display. I kind of like the appearance of the older one, it's much easier to read.

The one that is the Dec 99 model is the original one that was having the housing cracking and the Sept 0 is the newer model that if built after march of this year has the newer housing which is not suppose to crack. The performance wise is the same and as you see the display is the difference as they are made by a differnt company. I too thought I like the older display beter, but the newer one seems to be better in the bright sunlight and easier to see, but indoors it seems harder to read.
