PUTTING AN E-TRAC TOGETHER FOR FIRST TIME.

I will be putting my new etrac together for the first time. Is there anything that I should be aware of or to look out for that could be tricky and damage the etrac?

Make sure you don't drop the battery pack in. Slide it in gently so you don't stress the springs.

And also do not JAM the upper rod into the control housing..be gentle...when it stops, do not push any more...lock it down

HH,

Don't get discouraged when trying to feed the coil cable through the lower rod, it will go when you get it
twisted just right. also make sure you have the upper and lower rods completely shortened up, or slid together
so you can access the cable and screw it into the connection, then spread the upper and lower rods apart.

Thanks "teedub"

A buddy of mine suggested I drop string down the shaft and tie it to the coil cable. Then pull the string to help the cable through the shaft. Is that an okay way of doing it? Would I do the same for the upper shaft?

I'm not getting the etrac delivered until Friday 11/30.

Thanks for the continued help to all.

You won't need to for the upper, just slide the upper a far together wit the lower as you can. The coil wire end will be right at the top of the upper shaft. The string idea works good! I used to do that when I wanted to to put the small coil on but then I got a second lower shaft.

GOOD THING I ORDERED THE RAIN AND DUST COVER ALREADY, THAT WILL BE THE FIRST THING I INSTALL TO KEEP THE DROOL OFF OF THE CONTROL BOX.

I WISH YOU WOULD HAVE TOLD ME THAT WHEN I BOUGHT THE DETECTOR FROM YOU BART, YOU COULD HAVE MADE ANOTHER FEW BUCKS.

Thanks Jeff:thumbup:
