where I ever found the time to work...... Seems like I have more to do now than then. ON the other hand I get to pick and choose which ones I want to do...
Gotta keep moving. I enjoy playing with the equipment so its not work to me. Althought at the end of the day, I know I did something....
Basicly I'm thankful I can still do it. We are trying to get the new kids coming in to grab hold of the reins but they are reluctant to do so. If they want the club to be there they better get with the program as they could never afford to pay someone to do it. We groom that track almost weekly. Few tracks do that.
And its hard to find guys that know how to make the jumps right for launching with out flipping them over. All they want to do is ride it. If they are the backbone, its not a strong one. The way the by-laws are written and the charter, if we sell it, it all goes to charity. No one gets any money out of it. When one joins the club they own part of it. Its a 350 member cap. We are INC. We did it to protect our selves to some degree. Lots of injury's in that sport. We have been thru the part where little Johnny got hurt but daddy signed and agreement where he can't sue himself as part owner. But the wife, not a member can for a broken kid or husband. Then there is the signed liability wavier now by the kid under 18. Not at our club, but another private one, the kid came back and sued his parents because he got hurt and had a limp afterwords. He sued because they allowed him out there and had a life time type injury.
That one is still back and forth and we watch that closely. CT is strick. No one under 13 can race here and if they do, parent must be present at all times.
If injured he can not even be transported unless the parent ok's it... Its getting harder and harder to put a race on. Motocross has built in dangers, an everyone is out there trying to pass laws to protect someone. If one flings oneself over a jump at high speed enough times, face it your going to get hurt....
Or just do flat high speed enough, you will get hurt, be it a bicycle, horse, jeep, running what have you.... Somewhere in there there needs to be room for common sense and your abilities..... We keep close eye on abilities.....and group them that way.... If we see a rider riding way over his or her head, we will pull them... Then we get the other type, great riders from other clubs who sand bag, and ride in a lessor class when its money prizes... We watch that real close....
OK, off to work... Reworking and electric fence line this morning.......
Hows that ring coming along for Alice ?
