I drove to Carlisle this morning, on a invite from my new Forum
found friend, Grease Monkey. He was gracious enough to invite
me to hunt with him at a couple of his hunting sites.

Coooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool stuff there Tab/Monkey.

Nice finds Tab...and it sounds like you have a new friend as well:thumbup: That's what makes this hobby what it is....always good to make a new friend.

I sure will miss all the old lead and CW buttons! FYI: That lead thing could be a cotton seal or an ammo box seal or a ?? seal. Could be better than all the bullets put together as they are highly collectiable!! Take care in cleaning it and see if you can make out the name and or #'s Pinfire carts I can't remember the name of those you found ?burnside?Volcanic? 12mm? don't find many waaaayyy down south. I'll try to look in my book when I get home. What a great day!!!

.......and what do you get? excellent results! wow, it's a relic hunter's dream come true... i see you found some nice cw era lead, some knapsack studs and rivets, and the broken end of a "j" hook. is the button you found an eagle button? can't quite make it out. arkansas is well known for seldom seen and rare bullets. looks like ya'll are on or near a campsite. great hunt, tab, and hh!

It looks like a bale seal I found at a Chickasaw village site. Middle bottom in the photo.

[size=medium]Here is a whole pin fire cartridge. You can see that
the pin is inserted into the casing.
