Pushed Back Oldest Coin

Got off work and hit the empy lot around the corner until the light failed. Found two Wheats from the 191xs and this Indian. Didn't think much of it until I got home and cleaned her off to discover it was an 1864. Nine years older than anything found to date. The town was first populated in the 1850s so I'm going to be hitting my threshold pretty quick for oldest coin. Now where are her silver friends? HH!

Good looking Indian! Congrats on your oldest one yet! There should be some old silver mixed in there somewhere, hope you find it on your next hunt!

Nice indian! 1850's huh? Seated should be a lot easier to find, but I've always gone with the theory of a good chance of finding a coin dated 30 years prior to settlement. So the chance of finding a Bust coin is very real for you! Large cents as well. Keep it up and thanks for the picture.

Nice Indian - it's in real nice condition for an older one !

congratulations on finding your "newest" "oldest"!:clapping:

its always fun to break a new barrier. i see an 1850's dated seated dime in your future.

Pretty Indian! I am still on the hunt for my second Indian (found my first and only Indian almost 4 years ago).

I hope you get your coil over it and you find that old silver to match!
