Purchasing a second detector:unsure:

I have a Sharp Shooter II, my gal is going to hunt with me. Should I get another Sharp Shooter II, or the Landstar? Keep in mind she bought me the Sharp Shooter for Christmas.:look:

Hmmm...I hunt with the LandStar of course, and love it...Let me tell you, that Women are sensitive when it comes to things they give you for gifts...I have totally turned my girl against the hobby, by selling the Pioneer 202 she gave me for Christmas 2005 to upgrade to the 505, then selling that to upgrade to the Land Star...I try to convince her that I meant no disrespect, and I was just trying to enjoy the hobby better with a machine I liked...WRONG WORDS!!!..."You did not like the one I got you!!!...See if I ever get you anything nice again!!"...Oyyyy!!! I do not think she will be happy until I find enough to cover the cost of 3 detectors now, or I find a 5 karat diamond on a 24 karat gold ring...lol...Talk it over with her, and make sure your BOTH happy with your choice.

keep in mind that if you get another first texas detector to make sure the freq. is different. or they will cross talk, or even have a null effect on each other if you detect to close to one another.

How close are you talking that they will cancel each other out or interfere with each other?

We are now a two detector family! The Camo Sharp Shooter II is on it's way! I guess we will be giving each other a little space so they do not interfere with each other.

If the frequencies are within say 5 KHz of each other, they could interfere...I operate HAM radio, and find this frequency separation to be adequate to not hear the guy next to me in frequency...it all depends how sensitive the receiver is on the machine though. If you stay apart from each other while hunting, it should be OK...I believe the 2 machines you now own BOTH operate at 6.6 KHz...Do not quote me on that though...
