Purchasing a "New" ? Minelab Excalibur

I am purchasing a new Excalibur in the next few days. I noticed that the Minelab web site shows the headphones in yellow. Is that the 2007 color? I want the latest model but I am unsure how to tell a 2005 from a 2007. Input needed.

i bought the new Excal 1000 last june and it had yellow head phones on it and was told it was the newest mod.at that time.

The last time I sent mine in for warranty work, I asked for the upgrade $75, well spent. More durable, comfortable and better audio quality.

Hello everyone,i just purchased the Excalibur 1000 today,so that my mine lab SE would not fill lonesome this winter.Wanda at Kellyco told me today that they are currently back ordered waiting on the supply fron Ireland to arrive sometime next week.i asked Wanda about the headphones an was told they are koss,also i asked about the Excalibur newer model,an was assured there currently is none planed,also spoke with different people at minelab an was given same answer,I was concerned on spending the money on a model when talk of a newer coming out,an was assured not to worry.Happy detecting everyone,an keep up this great forum you have going. I've heard the same story... Like a week after I bought mine... 2 months ago... I also looking into from what I can and Found that there wasn't a newer model coming out either......

But You never know ... Maybe they'll start upgrading them the way they do computers and then what.... Noone would end up buying one 'cause they'll just keep waiting for the newer on to come out in a couple months.. (JMO)

The Excalibur is ranked top in its class and has been from what I hear for a very long time..
