I have a honda 5.5 hp gx 160 with a 2" gorman rupp pump model 12a1-gx160 but still can't find specs on it. Help if u can Ty.

im looking for it all ove searched everything the 12a1-13 is a trash and has the standard trash empellors i took my pump apart and checked gaskets and what not and i have the standard centrifigual impellors how ever u spell it im wondering if im going to have the psi to do what i want a 2 1/2 or a 2" dredge and need to know the head i guess it has to do with the lift or how much suction hose i can use . but everything i search online i will call gorman rupp pumps in the morning but the 12a1-13 is the trash pump. i have the 12a1-gx160. but by the images the impellors are diffrent i have 3 and the trash has 2?? been hard at building this for alomost a month and dont want have to start over with a pump and if i do where would u look for a god pump keene? i really do appreciate all the help..thanks

You have a 4.8hp 2" pump that will do up to about 45 psi and up to about 170 gpm. This will run up to a 2.5" dredge. This is a relatively inefficient pump. Trash pumps have design constraints that make them less than desirable as dredge pumps but if you already own it may as well use it.

Thanks it's a 5.5 hp honda I called Gorman Rupp and they told me 75 psi. But good news this other Forum I've been posting on. Most guys r completely negative nothing I'm putting up will work it seems like.this site is way more positive and very helpful.

Its a older pump says 5.5 but don't make any difference. Another questions is with the lower psi am I able to run a flare with a jet or do I need a suction nozzle. And what's my limit on suction hose feet. U know better than I do. Thanks for all the help.

sorry pump and motor the site u sent me to on the cord coil says gx160 mine says 5.5 hp gx160 im not arguing with u i dont know the diffrence i just posted what it said and i dont care if it is 2000 psiaslong as it will work cause its been used twice and it was free

Should be enough to run either a jet or suction nozzle 2.5" with about 10 feet of hose. Main thing is keep sluice box right at water level. Every inch of lift will rob lots of power.
