Pulse Induction- Used for park hunting.

Got a P I little over a year now. Belt hunt it because of weight . Mine is the Infinium L/S (land/sea). Anyway I'm a little surprised that not one pi was mentioned as a nickel killer. Normally, someone would think that using a pi on land (coin hunting) would be too tough as far as all the trash. Slingshot nailed it when he wrote about his sites are kept clean after years of hunting. There are plenty of spots I hunt with the Infinium. Advantage, is depth of course, but also Any machine that has that power. Well has the ability to Grab coins that aren't as deep but laying on edge. Water hunting I come across areas too trashy also , so only thing to do is bow your neck, and start clearing it out. In my short experience with pulse induction, I've scooped a funny signal finding a couple of tabs, rechecked, much deeper in the hole finding coins and once a Silver ring. Bet someone with more experience on this can lay it down better. By the way the ratio of nickels to total coins goes to my pi over my vlf's. Just a matter of hunting in the right place.

My PI was designed and built around finding gold rings and jewelry. The side effect with the 7" coil is its a clad killer in parks, schoolyards and picnic grounds. I still dig trash like a VLF but not the small foil you would have to dig to find the thin gold rings, which my PI will find. Yes the PI likes coins on edge.Picture below are some of the cleaned coins I have found, not pictured are a lot of $1 and $2 coins I spent shortly after digging them..LOL

I just built myself another unit that really rocks.

Hello Dancer,

Congrats with getting the Infinium, I've owned a couple myself and it was the Infinium that gave me hope someday a Pi can be used for serious relic or park hunting.

It can be done, Recovering coins especially nickels from parks. If you've pulled silver coins from certain areas that have stopped producing rest assure their will be deep nickels left behind, But you'll need to have patience and learn your Pi. .......Go after the weak deep high low signals, Sure you'll dig some iron and low conductive trash but eventually an old deep nickel will surface.

About six months ago, Took my ATX to an old park, We've pounded the site for so long it stopped producing. One day meet a local friend at this pounded park, Although had hundreds of hours on the ATX it was my first time detecting an old park with the ATX. Will post a link below, Within a few hours scored 5 deep nickels, My friends CTX wouldn't even get a signal on a couple of them when I called him over to check a target. An amazing day for sure, Think my friend was more surprised than I was seeing a PI nab several deep nickels we've missed with using our top end VLF.

Wish you the best of luck, Remember patience will reward you learn your PI get those deep signals down and go after those signals only.

All the best,
Paul

PI for deep Park Nickels

Your Answer is Yes.

Many people out there use the ATX to sweep through their hunted out sites and they do find tonnes of coins missed by VLF Machines. The Infinium, as well as the TDI, Impulse, and Sand Shark can be used for coins. I have not used the Infinium but have used the ATX, Garrett Recon PRo, SDC 2300, and the Sand Shark and they work very well. You will need to dig a lot of trash with the Sand Shark and SDC but you know that you have not missed anything. The SDC and Recon with it's small 8" coil is what I use for those infested areas with junk at every swing.
