Pulse Induction in the Park

pedrod

Member
Hello,

I have worked out a local park with my VLF and over the past few months pulled out all the top level garbage (and 1 gold ring) with a 4", 7", and 11" coil. I now want to pound the park with the pulse induction and get out any DEEP gold.

I am using the Infinium L/S and I like the facts its a PI that I can differentiate the good and poor conductors. Now I am searching the park with the 8" mono coil and to be hones the factory stem is wearing my hand out even with the box on my belt.

The theory is to search and wait for the high tone. Than I turn the dial to Iron check and if the singal stays its Iron and if it disappears it could be a good target. Does anyone else use the PI for deep hunting in the parks? What about the DD 4" small coil, will that still get depth.

thanks for the feedback!

Hi folks - I found with the control box behind the cuff , i actually have to push Down with the 10" x 14" mono & Reid-Man shaft. It's a relief to barely push down rather than pulling up with my forearm all day long (like most detectors). Oh, and easier (i think) to re-GB or change any settings as well , I wont run it any other way. And all the talk about weak lower shaft ~ I just found the length i wanted to leave it and did some drilling & put xtra bolt (some plastic - some stainless) and it is solid enuf that i never have to think about it. I did that researching things before i ever took it afield. Check Pic ~ Ken

pedrod , i bet Fishers Ghost or a couple of longer time LS / API users here could tell You. I only know about the 10" X 14" mono

Pedrod,

What 4 inch DD Infinium coil are yez totkin abart??

The Inf is a bit of a handfull in the parks and I wouldn't try the 10 x 14 because most parks are full of rubbish metal. Also most rangers don't take kindly to people digging big holes in their parks. Plus you will find that the local sporadic elec interference will drive you nuts.
The 5 x 10 might be a better bet. It will still go deeper than you should be digging. I only use a VLF with good discrimination in parks and gardens and play grounds and I set the sens so that I only recover targets that are within 4 or 5 inches of the surface. deeper than that and you start to make a mess with plug and hole size. especially when they mow the lawns and the mower rips the plugs out of the holes.

Sorry, it was the 3X7 which I think would be ideal for parks as it has to be good in trashy environments. I think I will do that! by this coil for the parks.

Yes there is a lot of Iron, but dont forget I spent 20+ hours at this park with a VLF already! I have taken out the majority of the surface trash and now I want to go for any GOLD that has sunk out of VLF range!

As for the holes, I can only go in to the park after the spring rains because Its a mud cake that I can dig in and SMASH it all back together with my 170lbs driving it down with my redwing boots! Your right in Dry soil the parks is off limits because it would look like land mines went off.

Yes, I have found the small 3x7 is the quiet coil amongst the infinium coil line against electronic smog. I t works well in the parks to, but I prefer a vlf for parks also.
