:pulltab:New to metal detection

Ed in Medina

New member
:pulltab: I just want to introduce myself to all of you. I'm Ed in Medina Ohio and I just picked up a Bounty Hunter Sharp Shooter 2 when I was on vacation last week. A big thank you to our government as part of my tax stimulus check went to purchase this detector...I guess I'm helping the economy too. I'm looking for a local club to join or just get in touch more in the sport. It seems like something I can really enjoy. Thanks for your time.

welcome to detecting, it can be fun and frustrating at the same time, you might find 99 pieces of junk then find one good thing that makes it all worth it, look through your own backyard first so you can practice digging plugs and filling the holes back in correctly, when you get good and go somewhere always make sure you have what you are going to dig with, a towel to put the dirt from the hole onto and something to put the stuff you find into to keep or throw when you are done and most important don't be afraid to ask questions on here, I have been detecting every summer for 3 years now and I have learned a lot from the people on here, I am not a professional but I am not an amature either thanks to their help, also post whatever good things you find, we like to see photos.

Welcome aboard I have an SSII and have done well with it. Mostly coin shooting, but have found a lot of different and interesting things. I will PM a link that might be useful. I don't have luck posting them to my message for some reason and no one can read them. HH
