Well, I hung up my ACE 250 blue "WOOLIES" a couple of days ago, and will store them with my other detecting supplies for next winter. The weather is such that I can safely use the GTI 2500 now, so to celebrate the "Rites Of Spring", I used it for the last three days hunts. I also took along the ACE 250/Sniper Coil, as it really compliments my my GTI 2500.
Today I headed out of town to search 5 different snow hills, which in the past had given up some snow loot. I also did one tot lot, using the ACE/Sniper Coil. I managed a tad over $27.00 today. The GTI 2500/12.5" Pizza Imaging Coil worked great! I was pulling dollar coins out of the snow, as deep (yes, I measured it) as 18 inches. That true all metal mode on the GTI 2500 is a real bonus. You can pretty well tell the depth by the strength ans intensity of the signal. You don't have to look at the screen at all during the hunt, unless you want to ID the target, either in true all metal mode or discriminate all metal. I found out that if you lengthen the lower rod so that you swing the coil without bending your elbow, you can swing it for hours. You kinda twist your body to get the coil swinging somewhat like a pendulum, and rock back and forth a little to compensate for the lifting of the coil (non-parallel) at the end of each swing.

Here are my totals for the last 3 days worth of hunting inclusive of today. The last two days I was hunting small hills at neighborhood schools in Edmonton where kids toboggan, roll, play etc. down these hills. Now a lot of the south facing hills have lost their snow, however, the north facing slopes still have about a foot, more or less. These were the hills which gave up some lunch money...including lots of one and two dollar coins.
My last three days of snow hunting totalled 129 coins which was $45.72 in loot. I still have several hills that I want to search before the snow is completely gone.
