Proud owner of a F70. Now can you advise me?

Hello,

I'm Laney and I live in the UK. I have been reading the posts on this forum for about 6 weeks because although I didn't know what detector to purchase, I knew I WAS going to buy a detector no matter what.

Anyway I have the F70 with the 6" 'foot' coil. I am going to be detecting on the river Thames and in fields near my home. At the moment I am using the settings in the quick start section in the manual 'right out of the box' but would like to ask the users on here for some advice on different settings for different ground conditions. And ANY would be welcomed. I used to detect about 17 years ago, but started again on St Patrick's day just passed, and am basically a new user.

The main reason I'm asking for advice is that I have a back injury that is controlled by morphine type patches, so I would rather bend down to dig a coin that any iron/ring-pulls/aluminium foil.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Laney,

The only advice I could offer at this point is to try out the settings in the quick start section and see how it does for you. Their a good starting point, and depending on how the machine acts, you'll have to make adjustments

Sounds like you have a great place to hunt, should be able to find some real treasures over there.

HH,
Brian

Thanks Brian. Have been doing what you suggest. I am using the settings mentioned in the quick start section of the manual. Searched a footpath near me and found various bits of scrap but also a large roman coin. Although it is totally worn down, I can just make out a few words in latin.
I will continue to scour the posts here for more info.
