Well i finally got a new se delivered after several months saving very hard. I missed my old explorer 2 a lot - a hell of a lot. The se has cured this anguish i am pleased to say. This detector is out of this world honest. Well worth starving your self for a many months hard saving. The depth is excellent. The looks are great. It feels nice to use , and gives a lot of confidence. Previous explorer users will take to the se without problems. Its fast and easy to use with superb switch on and go performance. Tweaked i think its capable of thrashhing an explorer XS or 2 on depth. It does seem deeper on smaller non ferrous than my old ex 2 i am sure. Some great finds are going to be made with se users i have no doubt over this.

I previously owned an explorer 2 which was a fantastic detector , i made a mistake & sold my exp 2 last year because i was skint and needed the money, i really missed it a lot , this was a big mistake selling it . Explorer 2 is now becoming much sought after and are now without doubt gaining a definite cult status in the metal detecting world. The second hand prices on the explorer 2 will hold high for years to come i am sure. I wish i still had it just for the status an explorer 2 holds alone. Lots of people use them in uk with great results. great performance. Hold on to your explorer 2 what ever you do don't sell!. You will regret it afterwards i promise.

Well back to the explorer SE , After reading alot about this detector over the last few months i am pleased to say i am finally the proud owner of a Minelab Explorer SE. The SE detector does look nice - Very nice , but then so does the explorer 2 , so on looks my opinion is their is not that much difference apart from the colour of course. A nice looking detector. The coil is the first thing i noticed- it looks a lot different to the one i was used to on the explorer 2 , thinner and sleeker than the coil on my old explorer 2 , and to say it is only half an inch smaller than the explorer 2 coil it looks and feels a lot smaller. Strength wise it does not look as strong as the chunky coil on the explorer 2, i am not saying the SE coil is weak it just does not look as strong as the explorer 2 coil. I decided to initially try the SE out on a local park for a little coin shooting practice, Quickly I found a few old pre decimal coins that were over 7 inches deep - these gave smooth strong signals and i could tell before i dug that the target was more than likely a deepish coin , these kind of signals from deep coins are very easy to spot especially if the signal is clean with no co located trash targets. Telling trash from cash is very easy with all explorer detectors. A few months Practice is needed though to become good at this. Once mastered you can whizz through parks picking coins out with ease and leaving the trash for others to dig. i have to admit had trouble digging down to some of the coins with my lesche trowel. A thin Small button came out from 7 inches in what was trashy mineralised ground & with a strong smooth repeatable signal, the depth on the se is very good, no problems here. More than deep enough for parks- Depth to spare here no problem! Some targets were just too deep to dig with a 5 inch trowel . I had to re fill and give up on several targets. The smaller coil works a treat on trashy parks. You do notice the less ground coverage with the smaller coil though. I was running in factory coins mode to start with, but i noticed i was getting too much threshold nulling due to the very high trash levels , i decided to search in iron mask -22 which worked very well , less nulling and better target separation were noticed in this mode . I have to say i like the SE a lot. My advice though is if you have an ex 2 then keep it. The difference between the SE and explorer 2 is only small and not worth selling your explorer 2 for in my opinion. The pinpointing i prefer on the SE by far this is a lot better and much more accurate. I would prefer the explorer 2 coil on my SE this is just my own preference and what i am used to. If you don't own an explorer 2 and are thinking of buying an SE then i would say don't hesitate go out and buy one with confidence , its a fantastic detector for superb in ground depth with the best discriminating features of any detector ever made - you dig very little rubbish with explorer's (once you know what rubbish sounds like that is). The explorer SE is a keeper for sure. Another cult detector in the making.

My F75 IS ON BACK ORDER. ONCE DELIVERED I WILL GIVE AN INITIAL FIELD TEST REPORT ON THE F75 FORUM.

I think you'll be impressed with the F75's depth and separation qualities. It's pretty darn good in the iron too but so far I wouldn't rank it up there with the SE ... time will tell though.
What you WILL love is how well it feels in your hand, the lack of weight and outstanding raw power is impressive and build quality seems much better than the T2.... there again, time will tell.

Congratulation man! Mine ships today and I should have it by Wed or Thurs of next week! I can't wait to unwrap that bad boy, I know she is going to look incredible! I hope you get out there and have alot of fun and success with yours!

It's a real site, actually, that I thought for sure I'd hunted out. And others had hammered this spot before me, as it has known history.
I spent much time going over the same 'hot' 25X40 foot area, with my Sovereign (WOT coil), and then recently with my Garrett 2500 (pulled out 4 Wheats and then a silver quarter at 9 inches the Sov. had missed - big surprise).
Well, I just spent 2 hours detecting the same plot with my SE (which I now feel I'm pretty good with), and pulled out: 2 Buffalos, 4 Wheaties, and 6 Indians!! Depth - 6-9 inches. I think there's still some deep silver there, waiting for the SE's slow sweep! Great machine, hands down.
