Protector of the coil.

senda

New member
For me it is a ruin, in 18 months of use I bought 4 (four) guards. The last two I have lined with a thick adhesive tape but have lengthened his life just a few more hunts.
The fact is they are 20 euros each protector, with another couple bought a new coil more ... and making me think of a cheaper solution.
Do you have any idea to extend the life of the protector? :nerd:
I appreciate your answers.
best regards

Hi Senda,
I have the same problem, our terrain is rocky and chomps coil protectors very quickly. In your favorite hardware or big box store, go to the home improvement / paint area. Near the roofing tar, look for either "Flex-Seal" or Rust-oleum "Leak Seal" flexible rubber coating sprays. I've used both - they go on thick and leave a slightly rubbery coating on the coil. I just spray the bottom and sides ( I put the cord in a plastic bag while spraying to keep it clean). I give the coil a few coats and touch up every few months. Works great for me. I use this on the tip of my Pro-Pointer too.

i use shoegoo on my coils wears like leather :detecting:

I'm lucky with the terrain I have. I've never worn out a coil, but they sure have worn me out. lol

thank you all, guys!
I will look for these products in Spain or similar ...
great idea!
best regards

Thanks Trakerman, is a good idea.:rofl:

But I would like to discuss with you.
I'm the one who breaks the coil protector. The stone, the tree and the post, they were there and were not moving.
The coil protector always starts to break, logically, for the two outer edges. At the height of the 3 and 9, on the clock.
The design of the shield is 100% effective in the sole, but as side guard, 30% effectiveness.
