Protector cover for waterproof headset,

Old California

New member
Here's a simple gadget to protect the waterproof connector, Although it's my first one it isn't the final outcome of what the future coil connector shield will be.

Ran out of time today so I quickly put this together, my next connector cover will extend further out to cover more of the connector and follow the battery pack molding retaining a streamline appearance.

The cover greatly reduces the possibility of damaging the main female connector or heaven forbid the detector itself, The connector shield will work with any of the waterproof headsets available for the CTX.

Parked beside the CTX is my old faithful waterproof Sovereign, She's been good to me but make way for the new Waterproof Minelab the CTX is here.

The most obvious thing in the picture is that of the arm cuff not being locked! Didn't someone ask about that in a post? Any additional protection is always good.

Yes, I am aware the arm rest is not locked.

The reason why nobody brought it up is It's a non issue......I just put the arm rest back on last night, haven't gotton around to clamping the arm rest with a pair of pliers.

That is a very interesting little mod to make it look nice and finished.
I'm having a problem seeing the resolution - but do you have the nut from the 1/4" regular phones part you remove to get to the waterproof female screwed thru your plastic piece? And where do you get that plastic cover?

You gotta love those waterproof Gray Ghost - I've had mine for a few weeks and they are awesome!!!

2 pieces of gold since getting into the water!!!

WTG Don on the two recent pieces of gold, the GG headphones are nice glad to hear you're prepared to find more.

The complete headphone connector slides through the opening of the entrance on the protector cover, next the headphone connector is connected, then slide the connector cover over the headphone connector tightening the connector cover with the plastic bolt. With this type of connector cover the headphone connector stays intact never needing to be disasimbled, Very simple.

Going to try and squeeze in some time today to make a better connector cover one that will cover the entire coil connector and will follow up on this same post with an updated pic, with close up pics so any CTX user can make one.

Congrats on the two pieces of gold,
Paul (Ca)
