Protective Box Cover for IDX Pro and Classics.

This is my IDX Pro with a cover. I just used my old XLT weather beater cover and cut holes just where it would slip over the knobs without having to remove them. It comes on and off really easy. My XLT meter cover will work also if I can find it. I don't need to see the markings. My settings stay the same except the G.B. and threshold.

Nice idea on the cover, I had one one of those when I owned an XLT many years ago, they work good! Do you still have your XL PRO? it's a great detector also. I bought one last year after selling my DFX, won't ever look back now. I also picked up an IDX PRO last year, and it runs real smooth in the square nail infested yards that hold the old coins. If you run a slow sweep speed with the IDX PRO it seems to sort out the signals real good, and you hardly know that you are running through some tough ground.Anyway have fun with it, and Happy Hunting.............Hombre

Hombre, I've been using the Whites 5900/6000 series and XL Pro for over 20 years as my main detectors. If I was forced to own just one detector it would be the XL Pro or earlier 5900/ 6000 Pro SL's. I used these detectors with a small coil for many years at the iron infested sites I hunt with good success but the sweep speed and slower response does have some drawbacks in the thick iron. I would still pick it as my main all around detector though. As soon as the underbrush thins out a bit I'm going to give the IDX Pro a good workout at some of my old sites.
