ok i still have a hat on my detector as it stops the battery compartment getting scratched but two questions where the handle is that you hold there is a tiny hole will this get bunged up i ask myself and should we protect it what is it fo?????r and in the same area there is a join where the handle is joined when i went along with my finger nail the other day dirt had collected although it doesnt get laid down
does anyone run with a cover on this bit as i would like to keep it as pristine as i can THANKS FOR ANY ANSWERS

you can clearly see the area i am talking about in the picture of the detector at the top of this forum just under the screen

I think the holes and crevasses are there so that they can fill with water to maintain neutral buoyancy when hunting in water. Cover as much you can if you want to keep it pristine.

Put some good wax on your machine. That really helps when you wash it off. Armor-All wipes works great also. Don't put anything on the screen. HH :minelab:

Agreeing with Hershey's post re Armor All....I have found that Armor All tends to work well after giving the detector a good rinse in Fresh Water. When I hunt Salt Water I always do the Rinse, Armor All and I check the battery and connections. I have never had any issues but the machine is an investment worth the TLC!
