Prospecting mode XT-70

I just love it

Its helpful when u go for the deepies to tell iron from nonferrous, to tell deeeeep from deep, to tell size on targets.

To tell why the ID is off in one sweep direction, maybe two.

Hats off Minelab:clapping: This is killer stuff in a killer detector.

Users need to use it more between beep and dig.

Learn some of it and you are hooked.

Does this mean in the last few days you have been testing the prospecting mode for those small bits you had discussed in previous posts?

If yes, can you relate what you are finding, and in what type of ground conditions?

If you mean much earlier posts yes. The prospect mode helps me finding small bits that could have been coins and coins I would not have found using only disc mode.

My ground usually sets at between 30 and 40 but its loaded in all layers with small iron that messes up the ID. The targets I am after read from 6-16 in air. Messed up in ground could be anywhere below that. Thin coins the sice of 1/3 the face of a US dime.

If you allways use prospect mode between beep and dig you will after a while learn lots about the object or close objects you otherwise would have missed resulting in dig trash or pass goodie.

I think a clue is to have jst enough sens in prospect to match the disc modes audio reach, the ID reach is less. Too much sens in prospect and it gets too powerful to be useful. With the correct sens set you can learn to tell differences in sice depth and ferrous/nonferrous on several close objects. Allways set after you have done the disc sens setting to match the reach.

Its not easy and i have way to go. BT got me on the track with his 1/40gram nuggets. If its that sensitive it should find the hammered better then tejon and mxt it its used correctly.

That I obviously failed to do, using only disc mode in my ground.

Hope that explaines some.
