Prospecting in the UK

Hey all, just wondering if anyone has experience prospecting in the UK? I'm asking this to findout which of my 3 detectors I should bring with me on a trip over next month.

1) Whites GMT
2) Minelab Excalibur II
3) Minelab GPX-5000

Which of those would be best for UK coin / relic searching?

If you are on a tour they should be able to advise you...
I haven't been there but my understanding is that a good discriminator is essential for coin hunting...beware of their heritage laws...as for prospecting, I would use the 5000 for nuggets...the gmt for ore dumps or very small gold...
good luck

Well that would be your Excaliber, If you try to use you GMT over here you will dig too much Iron, but although the GPX can be used over here
unless you are well versed in using it for coin hunting you will be floging a dead horse

Just another thought, you cant really use the Excal for gold prospecting in the UK so I take it that you are wanting to coin shoot etc
and for that purpose it will be just fine
