Prospecting in Heathcote (Victoria)

Mick H

New member
Greeting all, it's my first post on the Yank-Aussie forum. I have a question that is probably aimed at people who live in here in Victoria (Australia.) I am looking at getting a VLF detector to have a go at the old diggings in around the Heathcote, Costerfield, Graytown areas. I just need to know if these areas are worth the trouble and if so, what VLF detector would be most suitable.

All the best

Mick.

Hello Mick,
if you want to get a VLF for gold prospecting, I couldn't go past a Whites MXT.
Easily the most stable and adjustable VLF unit you could use in Oz. You can use
it for coins and relics, beach work as well as gold prospecting. DD & Concentric
coils from little ones to bigguns. But the best thing is, its easy to use! Thanx, Andy

Thanks Andy, I've been looking at the MXT and recently the Whites Vision. Going by the posts on the Whites forum, the Vision's gold abilities are up there with GMT. That's what I'm after for the Heathcote/Graytown areas, where I intend to do a bit of prospecting around the alluvial diggings and the creek beds. Thanks for you input.

Mick.
