A look at the multi tone equinox 800 verse the one tone of a vaquero.

I'm with you CD I want more than the same ol'beep for all.i even saw the video you did awhile back with the ace 150,deus,fors,cortes.the vaquero did seem to do well on a lot of things but they aren't for me.i enjoy the comparisons you do and the credit you give whichever detector does well.

I have owned the UK version of the Vaquero(Laser Trident11 Extreme) for a couple of years, its a steroids version of the stock Vaquero as it runs @18khz and also has fixed and manual GB,its a light weight machine and that is what i was mainly after, but it always has been a love/hate relationship with this machine. My main machine is a Deus plus i use many other detectors for site specific uses, all my other machines get used on a regular basis but my Vaquero has the NEL Snake coil on it,only used occasionally on really trashy sites, but then goes back in the cupboard again, its in brand new condition, wont ever part with it,but its not my favourite machine.

Must admit the new 800 offering from Minelab is grabbing my attention, but only because of the new 6'' coil option that will be available, that i can see a need for on a really trashy roman site, but then we hit onto too one of my buying criterias on any new machine that grabs my attention and that is i leave it a minimum of 12 months so that i can then see if any long term reliability issues start appearing.

sometimes personal metal detecting rules need to be overlooked....

I love my beep and digs. I love my "fancy" Turkish machines. Different things for different hunts. I love them all :)
