Propointer (problem)

Tony

Member
My new Propointer will often keep slowly chirping after I have removed the metal target from it.
This was in some air tests that I was doing. I could only reset the unit by switching off and on.
Is there a problem with my unit. It functions really well but his problem comes and goes but an on/off cycle always sets it perfect again.
Any ideas?
No further metal contacts it could sense, interference maybe?

Thanks,
Tony.

I've had mine going on three years and this will happen
often.
I just turn it off and on which puts it back into its normal
non chirping mode.
May be ultra sensetive nature of the beast.

The only time I have had that happen is when the battery is low. I change them and it's fine afterwords

Ive had that happen quite a bit an have changed the battery an it still does it not sure what causes it an the bettery is nesw not more then hour on it.

How long do you keep your ProPointer on?

Maybe this post will help.

[size=large]Orion42 is more apt to be correct. i've had this happen a number of times and the fix has been a new battery. one tends to lose track of how long of use between battery changes so this is how the pointer tells you time is up.

Mine hardly ever does this at all since I turn my PP off after each retrieval. Just a habit. It will go chattery, even with the best battery IMO, but hardly ever in short usuage stints. No biggie either way. martin

Thanks everyone for your posts....

Yes, the battery is new. It only ever does this after the unit has been left permanently ON for a few minutes.
This is the only consistent variable for when it plays up.
And yes, turning off and on always fixes the problem.

I think the key is turn off ASAP after retrieval. I feel happy that there probably isn't a problem with it afterall.

Thanks again for the advice,

Tony.

Thanks Ron....this is exactly my "problem". No longer a problem as I now know what's going on with the GB issue.
