Friday started out kind of dreary, fog and drizzle but the Spirit's were high. 22 men from the ages of 13 through 68 gathered in Gloucester for prayer then loaded into 4 mini vans for the trip to Long Island. The trip was uneventful but enjoyable and we arrived at the venue by 5:15 pm.
There were about 4-5 thousand men at the Friday night gathering. The speakers and music were outstanding. On Sat., we arrived at 8:30 for a 9:00 opening to find the rink almost full. Close to 10 thousand in attendance. Again, as the night before the speakers and music were great!
Probably the best part by far, was seeing between 2 and 7 hundred men go forward to accept our Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, amen and Amen! Truly a life changing experience. It had a personal note for me as the main Friday night speaker, a severely injured Vietnam Vet., told of how he had know a drug addict, boozer, and low life young man and how he had turned his life around. He then asked how we would like to have our daughters marry such a man? Well, this young man is now his son-in-law and sings in the PK vocal group. The reason it was personal to me was that I probably would not have gone had my son-in-law not invited me. With tears pouring down my face we hugged each other, forever bonded as father and son!
Like Mike(MI) said earlier, I would pray that all men could attend one of these meetings.
Thank you for your prayers on our journey.
God Bless!
