Programming the Deus

I have done a ton of reading but I have not yet seen any mention of this....can I simply turn on the control box without the coil being in the same room (so I am not turning on the coil as well) and then save some of the programs that I have comes across on the various forums....I suspect that the answer is "Yes" but I just want to be sure.

I just traded my etrac with 3 coils for a 6 week old Deus and took it out for its first spin today.....I did not find anything really special but I was impressed with the items and coins (no silver) that were found at a decent depth of 7" to 8" (and yes some of it was junk - tabs and screw caps).

I don't think you can program the freq without the coil. Might be other things also. It will not hurt anything.

correct about freq... I take my control unit to work with me and progam it when I have down time in the work truck

Wow your right. Good to know. I thought I was going nuts when all my stuff stayed set and the frequency did not. Still learning lol

You won't be able to control the frequency and will have to wait to do that when the coil is in range. Other than that, you can program everything else.
