Production of new models stalled?

:detecting: Has anyone been wondering why there is a present lack of new models being introduced in this industry? I heard a rumor that the government has halted the production of new models because of the "heavy metals " that are in the circuit boards. Anyone heard of that? I also heard that this is why some series have been discontinued. Just wondering....hmmmm:shrug:
 
There is an ongoing move to lead free electronic components. Is that what you mean?
 
I think most manufacturers have new models in the works. I don't think any of them release the models until there is a slump in sales. It's like Garrett and the Ace 250's. Why toss a new model out there when they can't keep up with the production of the 250?
