Problems importing and exporting with Xchange2

Hey! I tried to import some mlfs using gatekeepers instructions for xchange2:

"If there are any programs in the FILE folder (in the Collections on the far left) drag them to RECYCLE. When the FILE folder is clear, click on the Import a Minelab File tab above the word Map, near the top center of the screen. It will ask you to choose the file you want to import. Locate the .mlf file that you saved in the step above. This program can now be imported into your XChange2."

But I can't find a FILE folder icon in my xchange2....

Can you help me find it? Thanks.

I would re-install the software - something is not right here

The FILE icon should be between the ALL and RECYCLE. When you hook the CTX via the USB port does the CTX icon appear above ALL?

When importing you won't have to drag files from FILE to the recycle bin, you can, but don't have to. When Import is clicked on, a warning will tell you "the file is not empty, if you continue it will be replaced". However, if whatever you have in FILE is something you want to keep, be sure you either put it in a collection, or have it in a collection already or have downloaded and saved it to your PC.

I see it now. It appeared when I plugged in the detector. Xchange2 is telling me I need to update the CTX firmware. But there doesn't seem to be a link on the xchange2 software to do that. Will search the forum for answers to that one.

For anyone searching for the process of upgrading the firmware on the CTX3030, here are the instructions:

http://www.minelab.com/__files/f/95724/ctx-3030-upgrade-instructions.pdf

Mission accomplished.

That update gave you some neat new features...A Seawater setting and a pinpoint "lock".
If you installed the Exchange2 software from the Minelab CD that came with the machine, you probably need to update that as well.
Glad you got it sorted out.

Sorry to reopen an old topic.

Today I installed change 2 on a new computer. (downloaded directly from ML today)

The file menu is not present.

Does this menu only appear when a detector is plugged in ?

thanks
