Problem with my Explorer

The other day my Explorer started acting up. When I first turn it on instead of going to the last screen I was using, in my case SmartFind it starts up with a strange screen I have never seen. It looks like the smartfind screen but is much larger with nothing else on the screen just the discriminated parts and target. I tried a hot reboot with no luck. I have to press the detect button 4 times to get back to the smartfind screen, once there everything works fine. Any Idea how to fix the problem.
 
It sounds like it started on the expanded screen, which is button on the right, in the middle of the two threshold arrows. Its symbol is a square box with an arrow in the middle pointing towards the upper right corner of the box.Sounds like somebody was playing with it while you weren't home and shut it off in expanded mode....?
 
but about three times in 300 startups because I do alot of program screen modification, I wouldn't worry about it.
