problem with my CZ20

anybody ever had this problem with a CZ20?
as soon as the control box goes underwater the machine goes silent, then take it out of the water and works perfect.
it's like the water is shorting the machine out.

might have to send it in to have it turned into a CZ21.

thanks for any help given,
shaun.

Does your CZ20 go silent... but still continue to detect metal objects? If so... maybe it's just the lack of EMI or radio interference?

Can you increase the sound of the threshold while the detector is underwater?

hi,
no,it stops working altogether.it won't detect anything if the control box goes underwater.
the second it's out the water it works fine.
i've got an underwater detector that won't work underwater lol.

Yep sure have, The ground wire has come off. AND unfortunately it HAS to go back to be repaired becasue its waterproof. The other unfortunate thing about that is they will HAVE to make a CZ-21 out of it and its going to cost.

thanks for the info.
looks like i'll be sending it off to be turned into a CZ21.
the cost doesn't really matter,it has paid for itself a few times over,it's just my turn to put some money back into my gear.

You can get it repaired cheaper IF you don't use the pinpoint button and ask them not to fix that I believe. I had mine disabled. Everytime it hit my Bc or my tank it activated and drove me batty. Never use it anyway.

detector has gone back to fisher today.
could take a while as i live in the UK.
i've asked them to leave the pinpoint button off it,i don't need it.
i'll try my XP DEUS on the beach till it comes back.
