Problem with my CZ-21 today

Today, while hunting at the beach, my new CZ-21 would switch to pinpoint mode without my touching it. It did this about 6 or so times in a 15 to 20 minute time span. After that, it didn't do it again.
I had about 6 hours on the new set of batteries (copper tops). I don't think it was a power issue, although it could have been I guess.

Have any of you guys seen this before?

I really don't like the new pinpoint button on the CZ-21. It's hard to engage (usually) and you can't retune it like you could the CZ-20 and CZ-5. I just don't use it.

I still found a lot of coins the last 3 days; somewhere around 175 coins, mostly pennies of course and no silver. There were so many coins, but very little jewelry; one Tungston FC ring, one silver toe ring, and a couple of ear rings; THAT'S ALL. For a while on Sunday, I started passing up high tones and only dug mid tones. I don't like doing that, but I was tired.

Thanks,

Hawg, I just sent my CZ21 to Fisher last week for a check-up. When I would try to GB, with the
coil steady, I get a wavy? tone. It has always been solid tone before. Also it would lock up
with alternating mid/high tone and I would have to turn it off and back on to stop it. I agree with
you on the pp button. It's a PITA with no feedback. It seems to me the only way you can determine
if it's off/on is to be over a target. I realize there are issues with the waterproofing of knobs and
buttons, but it seem they could have at least incorporated "one beep on, two beeps off" tone to
let you know something was happening when you push it. Will post results when I hear back
from them.

Did you have the box on a belt mount? I found this happening when I belt-mounted the unit but it was when I was wearing extra heavy clothing and it turned out when I leaned one way, some part of my jacket or belt would trip the button. It never happend when I had the unit rod-mounted or carried in my shooting bag/pouch. Never wear a chest harness, but I'm guessing that would keep it from happening also.

I did have it mounted on my belt. I might have hit it with clothing, or jarred it with my scoop handle.
I hope that is all that it was.
