Problem with deep nails

chuckciao

New member
Today, I got two deep (8 inches) 12-44/45 signals that turned out to be large nails.
I tried to pinpoint accurately but I guess it was not accurate enough. I was really fooled!
Can anyone give me some tips on the method of pinpointing in order to avoid these trash targets?
Thanks
Chuck

I would recommend circling the targets a couple times, does the audio break up, if so it MIGHT be an indicator of a bad target. While pinpointing take notice if the target appears to move from where you expected it to be. If it does, it may be iron. On the screen, look for a tight red target in the 12 45 area and possible a dark blue down in the lower right, if you see both it is likely iron. I would also recommend digging up a couple of these targets after confirming the above to see if it helps you identify them. Hopefully you will come along a coin that is nestled near a nail to give you a better idea of what to look for when there is something good worth digging
