Probably some dumb questions, but here goes....:yikes:

When I got my used V3i it had some custom programming on the Coin and Jewelry program. When I would pinpoint the tone would rise the closer I got to the target and diminish as I got further from it. After finding a few targets with it fresh out of the box I remembered the forum recommendations - reset it to stock. So I did and lost this great feature. How do I get it back?

Next, I love the polar plot when analyzing a target more than the "camel humps." Is there a fast way to get that back after a program reset? Seems like it is buried deep in sub-menus and I was wondering if there is a short cut for it.

The V3 is a great machine and is giving me results in areas I have already hunted with my other machines. I just want to make sure the loose nut operating it is doing the best he can is all......

Thanks,

The Shark

Ugh, I may know the answer to my first question. I seem to have a mental block when it comes to VCO. Everyone told me to make sure VCO is on when I use my detector. I checked when I first got the detector, but I have not checked it since. I may need to go back and revisit that because from what I have read offline it just may be what I need.

For the VCO (sounds like you have it but just in case), zoom on the audio level/tone live control. Scroll down to pinpoint audio and press enter, then make sure VCO is checked. You can get to this thru the expert menu too Expert menu/Audio/Pinpoint Audio/VCO.

For the polar plot, done through the expert menu. Expert menu/Configure/Live search screen/Analysis/polar plot. (You can set it up for your main search screen by going to Expert menu/Configure/Live search screen/search/polar plot, but for your general searching, the spectragraph is probably the most useful, so that's why I sent you to Analysis).

With Anne working, I can go out hunting again. Nice work Anne.
