Got out of the house this morning, and headed to a spot I have been researching for the last couple of weeks. Because there was a good probability of digging some older stuff, I figured the GTI 2500 would fill the gap. I hunted in discriminate mode mostly in relic program, however, I switched to true all metal when things got a little quiet. Here's all the goods I dug. There wasn't really too much trash....maybe a few old rusted bottle caps, pull tabs and foil.

My first two coin signals gave a belltone, size "B" at about three inches, and I got a dime, and then another seconds later. The rest of the day got me many more coins, and some nice oldies too.

Here's the pennies and nickels. I had many others from the forties on up.

WHISTLE2.jpg

That locket in the top left hand corner baffled me? Nice mother of pearl on one side, and three rings on the other. I'm not sure of the significance of those rings....any ideas? Also got, what I thought was an earring, which turned out to be part of a fishing spinner. That copper tube on the right is probably a whistle.

What I thought was an old flattened wine cap, after some cleaning turned out to be a case for a pocket watch. It has some beautiful artwork on it, and is probably silver. It has a number and a couple of stamps on it. Also got one of those old earring with the clasp, which I lost. May be gold plated....who knows?

Dug up an old watch, gold plate I imagine. It also has some very nice art work on it.

My last signal gave that over-load signal, and I figured that it was probably an old rusted can. Well....I dug it anyways, and out came a nice old powder-puff for a lady, from many years back!

And go figure, a cold front came through, and we got SNOW! But, not enough to stay on the grass. Tomorrows another day, and I am off from work again.

Congrats on the great hunt John! i really like the old coins! The nice array of items is great! Ihe compact, watch, whistle! All in all a very good day of hunting, Beale.
