Pro vs Max

From reading the chart at Garrett, about the only functional difference between the two is the "All Metal" mode, at least from what I can tell reading. Wireless headphones, volume control are nice but can all be done with third party add ons. Is the all metal mode that much of an added feature? Considering I already have an pretty good all metal Infinium, (pull tabs run, but they can't hide) is there any benefit from having that feature on the AT?

Then again, what exactly is "All Metal" mode? What is different between that and the Pro Zero mode?

Not really planning an upgrade anything soon, am just a little curious though...

The "best" feature is that true all metal mode. It gets fantastic depth, still gives a target VDI number and you can also use the iron audio, I also have a PI, and using the MAX gets a lot of targets missed by others. I hunt fresh water lakes and do real well. I also use the largest coil Garrett builds, a 9" x 12" concentric coil. The MAX has a deeper true all metal mode then the AT Gold, making it a better machine for detecting gold prospecting. However, I find the AT Pro the "Best" of the series for coin and jewelry hunting. The audio is awesome!
