Pro-Swing 45 Missing Part - Need Ideas

I discovered today the bent bar that screws into the hip piece was missing, not sure when it came off. This is the 3rd time it has come unscrewed fortunately I noticed it before I drove off the other times.

The bright side is Minelab is sending me another piece.

I separate the upper and lower pieces to put in a carry bag or motorcycle saddlebags. When disconnected both the upper and lower rods are free to swivel shorter or longer and possibly off. The bent piece rotates easier I think because it catches on other things.

I thought about drilling small holes in the rods and using 60lb braided fishing line to attach the rod to another piece of the harness to keep it from rotating, any other ideas?

I used electric tape to keep it from turning and coming apart easy on easy off

no problem these things weren't designed for the larger sizes so it was hard for me to get it adjusted right and it kept turning and coming undone so I used the tape and solved the problem especially one time it came apart in the park and I had to look for it LOL.

Anyone notice how the left side of the CTX housing is getting all scratched up - I think by this harness somehow, not sure.

The scuffing is probably from the plastic arm...the detector can tend to scrape it during it's swing to your strong hand.

The way I solved it, was to purchase a short length of rigid foam pipe insulation, and cut to length.
(It's the same stuff swimming pool 'noodles' are made from.)

You'll need to use two pieces to allow you assemble the two pieces of the arm together.

Here's a shot to show how I did it:

No hitting now.

Can you post the photo somewhere else - I am in Google password catch22 land and can't get out. Back when I signed up for gmail I did so giving a land line phone number. So I forgot the password and they want to text message me a new one and land lines don't support texting.
Wish I knew this was going to happen to the CTX earlier - mine looks quite used now...
I get the idea of your suggestion - will do, thanks.
