pro mode , zero disc , full sens , no iron disc , hot hot :hot:

Agreed!! Some places I can lower the Iron Disc, like around 25, but most places it's deafening to run much below 35. Any more Sens. causes my AT to become unstable and there really is not much to be gained by cranking it up, it just makes it more Sens. to all the minerals in the ground. That being said, if I get over a target that I think might be something and it's whispering in my 'phones, I'll give it a Sens boost, to try and get a better lock on it. Keep it low, swing it slow and and you'll dig mo'!! Keep it high, then you'll cry and come home dry!! You don't always drive your car wide open do you??

lmao, why to cool,thats great...lol.lol

Actually I do know a few people like that but that is another story. :) Interesting thread. I am starting to infer that some of you run the iron discrimination high enough to cut most of the chatter and leave the iron audio turned on. I had not thought of it that way but then I havnt used mine much either.

Bart,

for smoothest audio response imo, I run zero disc and zero iron reject. The responses 'seem' faster and smoother and definitely more clear than with the sound of the disc chopping targets at times that have been set to be rejected.

While It's tough to put up with the constant iron tones I have to deal with around here, I seem to be able to endure the noise to the brain a lil longer each time out. When I just cant take it no more, maybe after 90 minutes or so, I gradually up the iron disc till the iron starts to back off a little in the fones.

Because I dont look for anything specific (just non ferrous) when tecting old fort or home sites, I finally got myself away from looking at the meter too since running with zero disc / iron reject. When I was first using the AT Pro, things sounded chopped and unsure and difficult to repeat with multiple swings. I was looking at the meter constantly to be the decision maker for me because the audio was rather unsure sounding. Now, if it beeps once, it WILL beep again, unlike the way it does when some items are rejected. I now detect 100% by sound and I will look at the meter just before digging to see what it thinks I may be hearing.

Give this a try if you havent already, you may like it.

I hunted today like Dennis H does. Just today. I found 7 dimes in an hour. I did find a couple pennies though... They were stuck to 2 dimes in the same hole. I also found a watch fob. Could be silver, I haven't cleand up the finds. I also found a mutiple quarter hole!

For cherry picking I still use std mode, coins, iron disc to 40. I dont need any iron for coins. If you cant find coins this way.. Give up or get another machine. LOL

Pro mode Zero discrimination Sens at MAX wide open baby.

Found 2 gold rings, both 14k, this weekend. Both were below the wood chips and in the dirt a few inches and had been missed by all detectors before.

Also pulled an old powder flask top from below the chips and in the dirt a good 5-6". Yes the AT Pro can go very deep.

Why not just get a PI detector and a backhoe, and not be held back by a detector with so many useless features?

Just kiddin'... My AT Pro is "Out for Delivery" right this moment. I'm sure I'll be trying a bunch of settings.

i don't want no stinkin Iron !!.....Pedal to the metal in Pro Mode !!....Sensitivity all the way up ......40 on the descrimination !!.....Iron Audio OFF except to check the high tone targets !!......Let er RIP !!!........ Jim
