I have bought a pro find 40 But i don't have the intructions , does anu one know how you activate the ferrous audio on this pinpointer

Via Chat GPT:

To activate the Ferrous Tone ID on the Minelab Pro-Find 40 Pinpointer, follow these steps:

  1. Power On: Ensure the probe is at least 300mm (1 foot) away from metal objects. Press the Power button (5). The unit will beep twice, and the LED (3) will illuminate. When auto-calibration is complete, a short beep indicates that the pinpointer is ready to use.
  2. Enable Ferrous Tone ID:
    • Hold the pinpointer away from metal objects.
    • Press and hold the + (Plus) button(6) for 3 seconds. You’ll hear one long beep.
    • When the pinpointer is close to the target:
      • Interrupted chirping tones upon detection indicate a ferrous target.
      • Ferrous Tone ID is effective when the probe is 10–15 mm (approx. ½") from a ferrous object.
  3. Audio Indication:
    • To turn audio tones ON (default), hold down the + (Plus) button (6) while turning on the pinpointer.
    • To turn audio tones OFF, hold down the - (Minus) button (7) while turning on the pinpointer.
    • If neither button is pressed during startup, it will default to the last-used audio mode.
Remember that this is a fun and informative feature for metal detecting enthusiasts! Happy treasure hunting!
