PRICE OF GOLD RINGS ?

[attachment 208348 003.JPG] (10k) [attachment 208347 002.JPG] (10k)

I READ IN A BEACH HUNTING BOOK HOW TO FIGURE OUT THE GOLD PRICE OF RINGS WE FIND. AND THAT IS......THIS RING WEIGHS 2.6dwt.......
GOLD PRICE $1830 SPOT X 2.6dwt DIVIDED BY 20 (20 penny weights in an ounce) X 10k (karot of ring) DIVIDED BY 24 (24 being solid gold) EQUALS THE GOLD PRICE OF THIS RING. $99.125. NOW I DON'T KNOW WHAT OR IF ALL PLATED RINGS ARE MADE FROM THE SAME BASE MATERIAL... BUT WAS WONDERING IF ANY ONE KNOWS IF THIS IS A TRUE WAY OR NOT... ANY THOUGHTS?? THANKS FOR READING.

$1830 X ------- x ------ = $99.125

Nice find. You also need to factor in what the buyer needs to get out of the deal. That can run from 5% to 25%, depending on where you sell it. Either way, it doesn't take much gold to make some real money anymore. HH

[size=large]was told of a company that will give ya 98% of spot value. sent my rings in. am waiting to hear back. that company is called, "ARAGOLD" . at least thats what i used to find it on the web.could be the differance of quite a few bucks by just mailing and waiting a few more days. will cry load and long if it don't pan out. but it'll be either the place to go or avoid. will let ya know.

One place offered $28 per DWT today with gold at $1785 and another offered me $43....you really have to shop around. Don't hesitate to call them.
There are crooks out there.

K THANKS. THIS 10K RING WOULD OF POCKETED ME TODAY... $60.00 AT A PAWN SHOP. IT WEIGHS 2.6 DWT. @$1785. 00. I KEPT IT. NOT BAD THOUGH FOR 10 15 MINUTES OF SWINGING. I WAS JUST TRYING THE DEPTH READING WITH MY NEW 12X15 SEF. THINK IT READ 09-09 ON THE EXPLORER. WAS ONLY 3'' DEEP THOUGH. MAKES ME WANT TO GO DIG ALL LOW NUMBERS NOW.

Know your buyer and shop around....do remember buyer has to make a profit and as far as sending gold rings and such away not a good iodea in my mind.

In any case if you want to sell now is the time with the price being way up there...

I always weigh mine and they have never questioned it. Call them American Recycling Associates 1-800-216-9796 you will be glad you did. HH :minelab:

[size=large]part of shopping around is word of mouth. and my mouth says send your gold to ARAGOLD. 98% pay out. takes about 1 1/2 weeks but worth the extra $$$. paid better than i thought was coming. now if i can just find more gold to send them. that's a couple of hundred off the cost of my explorer se pro. just a few hundred more and my gas will be paid for. then recover the cost of the other detectors. say, did God make that much Gold??
