I found on mapquest satellite image an old sand quarry near a town that I figured would make a good swimming hole...the sand was used for castings for when Michigan had some foundrys and automotive mfg going on, old enough there might be silver there..evidently it gets a lot of kid traffic. I was in the water at 7am and out at 9:30...one wheat penny in the mix, the rest clad, lots of nickles, and D's...tons of targets...really deep signals...it took at least 2-5 scoops to get most of them. I need to get back in there, I only did about 10% of the place, I doubt anyone has been in here with a detector or at least with a 'Pro! ...the ring pinged in at a perfect 53 a pink stone in it, its not marked though, shines up looking like gold, but failed a 10k acid test...a big storm came in with heavy wind and rain, blowing sideways and whitecapping the quarry! I went back to the car and put on a Froggtogg rain top over myself and the waders and got right back down in there during the whole mess, hunting away, perfect! ...I am really liking this 'Pro for water hunting...had a great May overall with it.. 21gr of gold, and some silver too.
