Pretty good site

A while back I asked for feedback on modern cameras because I wanted to upgrade from my Nikon 990. I got no responses. I managed to find this site that allows you to make direct comparisons of various cameras based on your inputs. It's not a bad site. If you are looking for a new camera go to it and step through the questions and it will output appropriate cameras and allow you to make direct comparisons.
Here is the link:

First, I didn't respond to your post because I am not very experienced with many of the newer cameras. I have only owned/used two digital cameras in my life, my Nikon 4300 and my Canon Digital Rebel. Since I am just learning about all of this myself I really don't feel comfortable trying to guide other newbies. Pretty much everything I know is from research on the Internet so I doubt I would provide any insight that you don't already know.
As far as the web site you posted I found it pretty confusing. I put in what I thought was some very specific options and specifications. When I finished it recommended something like 25 different cameras, many of which had very little to do with what I wanted. Just by surfing the net before I purchased either of my cameras I was able to narrow my choices down to less than 5 choices. So having a web site suggest 25 models would have only confused me even more. In any case it was an interesting site but I doubt it would have helped me in my choice of cameras.
For me, the site linked below was by far the biggest help in deciding what camera to buy. In both cases I felt I got exactly the camera that I wanted. Unfortunately the more I learn the more my wants are changing. But if I buy another camera any time soon my wife will probably kill me. <img src="/metal/html/wink.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=";)">

cameras. I have only owned a couple and am learning how to use them.
I will respond if someone asks me how I like the one I am using though.
It is like the detector wars, which I feel are silly. I see guys get into big arguments about detectors they have never used. I refuse to do that.
There are few that have used enough different cameras to make much of a judgment. we can say what we like in a camera so the reader can use this information while he is doing his research but to recomend a camera? I don't think so

Just last year I purchased a Canon PowerShot A70 and fell in love with it. I'm finding I'm using this digital far more than my old Casio digital or any of my 35mm SLR's. I've been looking that the Rebel digital and it seems like something I would like, but I would like to hear from someone using it.
One of the things I don't like about many of the digital cameras on the market is they offer so many bells and whistles that it's hard to find the couple options you DO want to use. Anyway, just curious how well you like your Rebel.
