Prettiest coins

Heavy rains this weekend, so I'm shut in, cleaning detectors and old coins....I bought the red book for coins, thanks to all who suggested it, thumbing through it, I was struck by the beauty of the older designed coins...the Mercury dimes may very well be my favorite design of all.... without taking rarity and monetary value into consideration, which of the older coins were the best looking?

Just about a toss up between the Standing Liberty and the Walker. I guess I'd have to say the Walker. If you throw in commemoratives the 1915S Panama Pacific $2.50 and $50 gold coins are very unique and beautiful.

yup,walker although for me a 1793 flowing hair large cent is nice too but they dont come up to often...

perhaps its just me getting old...and nostalgic... but almost everything of modern design has little style. the old coins, buildings, autos.... somehow we lost
something in how things are designed... i am not entirely sure why coinage would be redesigned as often as it is.... regardless of why, the older coins ALL have a
subtle elegance that is lacking in todays minting.
