The soil is low in minerals but iron is everywhere. I will be looking for coin sized targets to include brass and pewter buttons. I would like to try ferrous/coin, auto +1 sensitivity , fast recovery, three tones. What else?

If lots of iron and little modern trash I would opt for two tones with iron tone set very low and conductive tone quite high.If you start to get a lot of false high tones I would disc out most of the top line to eliminate wrap around iron falses. With TTF it seems the machine is even faster than with 3 tone to me and I dig all above iron at my old relic sites anyway.
The relic mode is not bad if you set the ferrous conductive line to 20 or 21.
On real deep targets you will often get a mixed high/low tone and if you stop and do a careful wiggle of the coil directly above the target it will go solid high tone if not nails/iron.

I like this all except fast recovery. It degrades audio to much. AUDIO AUDIO AUDIO..... If the site is clean go +2. Trashy... straight auto.

Mine doesn't have a 3-tone option..... only 1, 2 FE/CO, 4 FE/CO, 35 FE, 50 CO or Combined. Other than that, Ray pretty well summed up my thoughts. If you do move the FE line, make sure the targets you seek are "above the line". You can confirm that with some that you've dug in the past. HH Randy
