Just got the outlaw. and started doing some testing - tried the 5.75" coil 1st in the anoka sand . this is a sand brownish in color and laced with black sand , not heavy amounts the 5.75 was able to get a dime in ground with a diggable signal at 4.50" did not bury it deeper maybe later the threshold all metal was much deeper as i could hit it in ground at that depth and still lift the coil 3" and hear it good then i took the black sand i have wich is 3" deep and put a dime under it and in disq nothing . so then in all metal , .. by the way ground balancing was tricky as it is a very fine point of going eather way but even in all metal i could not get thru to hear the dime i was bummed out . so i put the 10x12 coil on and that got it , and even made some sounds in disq i would investigate=-. so that was nice. Now i know what they are saying about a DD coil doing better in mineralized ground it really is true . so far I can say its not a deep detector but a good medium depth machine and the all metal can handle some very badd ground and still get good depth , the non motion is deep as well provided you are not close to a larger chunk of metal . all for now Gunnar
