preliminary report on the 15" WOT coil on SOV-GT

Just got the 15" WOT for SOV-GT today and took it out to my test garden , i have a 5" dime ,6''and 7"and 8" and 9" dimes with sens at 2:30 i was able to get all the dimes to 8" with clear crisp beutifull sounds but the 9" was stuborn i had to tune it up a bit to get that 12:00 oclock and a bit more vigorus threshold and faster sweep but i got it . and in all metal its deeper yet 9" dime no problem a very diggable signal couldent check the 10" as a car was parked over it but it has a noticable better clarity on all coins i was suprized. and thanks to Demarco detector sales, fro the great price on this unit the coil is very high quality and very lite. Is it deeper than the stock 10" yes and this gives the clearer signals very clear and sharp pinponting is not a problem for me its the same as the 10

give the wot a little time.....its got a little bit of a learning curve to it as well.....i love mine on the beach......seems to go deeper than 10 inch coil.... you will get a lot more targets than others using smaller coils,,at least i did..... still struggling to get that 9 inch dime to talk???? im begining to wonder if that dime is near a small piece of iron....bury another dime at 9 inches and see if it makes a difference at a different spot.......i can tell you ive dug some dimes as deep as 15 inches in the damp sand at the beach....i would not have believed it either except i was the one doing the digging........of course that is the exception not the norm.....usually 8-9 inches is about the max......in land for me its much less,,,,rarely deeper than 6...... enjoy it... hope to hear a wot success story .........

I will do that .buried dime in a diffrent spot .I think I am getting spoiled i never could get dimes at even 5"with my other detectors and now I am complaning i dont get a clear signal at 9" on the smallest coin but i can get it sens at 11:30 threshold a bit higher than normal . what kind of ground are you hunting in if you can only get 6"

With a big coil like that you may find that a lower sens gives better depth or target ID than maxing out sens to the edge of stability. I fing this to be true with any of my coils some times but was more common with the 15x12. This was mainly at medium to high mineralized soils. My theory is too high of sens would see too much ground matrix and so degrade or even null the target. Smaller coils will see less ground and so more often want sens maxed out to the edge of stability. The 12x10 more often wants sens maxed. Also, lower sens say noon or lower will want a faster sweep speed and faster wiggles over target, while higher sens will want you to search slower and do slower wiggles when checking out targets. Play with sens and sweep speed when checking one of your fringe dimes.

I did a air test at 9" with a dime , and it did the same thing i think thats just the depth the SOV GT will get you in Disq yes i could get the dime in air at 9" but it had to be a fast sweep and it was a bit unstabe so its doing the same in ground , i air tested the dime in al metal and about 10.5 " and in pinpoint 12" easy and the quarter 14" in pinpoint that is with the 15" WOT i may just go hunt in pinpont today and see what comes up
