This is most likely not posted in the right forum, so my apologizes. Would be interested in hearing from anyone with pros or cons about Predator's Model 35 - Piranha Shovel. Thanks to everyone for taking the time to read this and possibly responding.

It is an awesome shovel... About the only thing I would add is a bigger shoulder. You can buy the foot pad for them though..

Got it for Xmas, thought about posting a bad review on how bad it was at shoveling snow, but didn't. Looks great in my basement, feels sexy in my hands, can't wait for spring!!! JJ

Fantastic shovel. Not very conspicuous, totally undestructable, digs great plugs far more efficiently than a Lesch digger, easy to carry, easyto sharpen if necessary!

By far the strongest most efficient shovel I have used. Rust resistant and cuts through small roots/grass with ease. It will even cut through the really thick roots with some effort but it gets the job done much more easier compared to other shovels.

I've read some not so positive comments pertaining to the customer service offered by Predator Tools. Curious if I should place my order and hope for the best? Anyone have any experience with or thoughts dealing with Predator Tools?

Just answered my own question. Called Predator Tools this morning and was able to speak with George, place my order and just received shipping confirmation, will arrive mid-week. No issues on my part. Looking forward to receiving my Piranha. Woo Hoo!!! BTW, George was friendly and to the point.

I love that shovel!! Put it through some heavy abuse in the field, and it stood up to everything I gave it! Also, works great as a "walking stick" in a freshly ploughed field!

Have had many. Even tried constructing something I thought would be better than the market offers
and was until I came across this one. Bought it and a shovel hasn't crossed my mind since. I got the
rack for your belt that you hang the shovel on. I did drill a hole and strap it to my belt though. Sometimes
the rack would come off when I would pull the shovel out and that aggrevated me a bit. No issues since
I fixed that problem and believe me, it will cut through some fair sized roots. Makes a neat hole.

Just ordered one of the Piranha 35s based on all the recommendations. I have a Fiskar which is pretty big comparatively, but a decent shovel. One of my detector partners cringes every time I bring the Fiskar out:lol:
